MY THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK IF YOU CARE TO READ:
The workouts this week were tough, we kicked some MAJOR BUTT! We sweat a lot and put in some great effort! Those knees were higher, pushups lower and faster, and I saw you all pushing yourself a little more. You think I’m not watching, but I am always watching! WAY TO GO THIS WEEK!!
On a New Year’s Resolution note, I told Jim I wish I would have started this low carb/low sugar diet about four weeks before spring break, instead of twelve weeks before, it would be a whole lot easier to stick with….and then….I started to notice some changes. I actually have more energy. I have always said that I am usually in bed by 8/8:30, but I am actually making it to 9:30, sometimes 10:00. I am a bread/sugar girl, actually I am a die hard SUGAR fan! I don’t love the snickers, I go straight for a bag of candy corn, hot tamales, and unfortunately they now sell those damn peeps for every holiday. I am also a sucker for candy hearts that are also currently out at every local grocer! I am doing okay with the cut back…not great, not bad. I have my handful of chocolate chips every night and I snag some marshmallows from Emma’s lucky charm bowl, but I am doing much better than I was….it is a lifestyle change and I am doing it slowly!!
I am sure some of you are thinking, “why the hell is she sharing all of this?” Honestly, if I don’t, I will fall off the cart, this helps hold me accountable. If I didn’t write about it or tell people then I would just quit. The same was true when I started running. Yes, I was that annoying person that couldn’t stop talking about the run I went on earlier that day or when I was going to get my next run in or what race I wanted to do next. If I didn’t talk about it I knew I wouldn’t do it.
THE SAME IS TRUE OF BOOTCAMP CLASSES! If I didn’t have to go to teach a class I am sure there are a lot of days that I would hit that buzzer and not come! I have heard some of you say that you could never come to bootcamp at No Excuses…the classes are too hard and everyone is in good shape. The first idea that the classes are too hard is both true and untrue. It is a TRUE statement because it is supposed to be hard, but UNTRUE because there are modifications that can be made for every exercise. To the second point, do you ever wonder how they got to be in good shape? That’s because one day they got up and came to class and continued to come to class. Is the first day going to suck? YES! Is the second day going to suck? YES! Is the class going be hard? YES!
BUT….You will go at YOUR pace and do what YOU need to do for YOU! As you get stronger you will push yourself to the next level each week!
