What’s your mood? Two weeks ago it was easy to say you wanted in on this bet….where are you now? Are you staying loyal to yourself? Di you lose the 4% out of the gates? Are you close? Can you maintain it? Or, are you maintaining where you at right now and then going to kick it into high gear and drop the weight the last two weeks? I would recommend not going with the last idea, but whatever works for you!! Whatever you decide to do I sure hope it works for you, because I know what I tried the first two weeks is not working for me.

I knew ahead of time that losing 4% was going to be hard for me, because I am ADDICTED to cereal!! So….. I thought I would change it up and go LOW CARB, like hard core low carb. Let’s just say it wasn’t one of my brightest moments. For the amount of working out (the intensity of our bootcamp classes) and the long distance running I do, the carb cut was NOT smart. Last week our little running group ran 10 miles and I thought I was going to die….the delicious filet I had made for Jim and I the night before did not help on that run. This week, 2 hours before the run I followed the “teachings” and made myself some oatmeal and the run was so much better (not that I particularly liked the run in the snow), but I could definitely tell a difference. Yes, I know, it was stupid. I have a very honest girlfriend in the fitness industry and she called me an IDIOT!!!
Now what? I’m still going to reduce the carbs and try to stay away from eating a TON of cereal, but I am also going to try to balance the carbs!! One good, easy recipe I made this week was cauliflower soup. I have made this cauliflower soup on the stove top, but wanted to make it the other night and figured I could make it in the microwave.
Cauliflower Soup (I promise it’s good and doesn’t even really taste like cauliflower)
- Cauliflower
- 2 cans chicken broth-@14 oz.
- 1/2 onion chopped
- 1 Tablespoon butter
