Like to try….what do I have to lose???

Hi Everyone-

I hope you had a wonderful weekend…ours was full of baseball for the three oldest, and it was a lot of fun figuring out the puzzle pieces of how to get everyone where they needed to be.  As I write the blog for the week, I usually start by planning the workout for Tuesday and think back about the weekend.  By Monday, I’ve forgotten what we have done, and I usually need a visual reminder so I look back at my pictures on my phone.  This week there are lots of baseball, softball, and more baseball pictures!  I did find some funny ones that I didn’t even remember that I took, and I think they will make you laugh…..You will notice or start to figure out, if you haven’t already, that I will give anything a try…at least once!  So, below are a few of the things I’ve tried or am in the process of trying!!  Why not, right?

ITEM #1:  ICE FACE DUNK On a blog I read, there was some information on soaking your face in ice water.  I guess ALL the models do it (insert sarcasm here), so I thought I’d give it a whirl.  I took a before picture, during, and after so you can get the full effect.  I didn’t see a difference, my cheeks looked brighter…. (I think you need to do it more than once!)  Please don’t judge the photo…I’m just showing an experiment…I know I look like HELL!!

ITEM #2:  TURKEY BURGERS I made the family some turkey burgers earlier in the week and I normally make them on the stove top in a griddle pan, but I froze a couple of extras and Jim and I had them for lunch!  If you look close enough at the picture you can see that I used gold fish as my “packing” to hold the burgers together!  The kids got a kick out of it!

ITEM #3:  I was looking through the new SHAPE magazine and I saw this advertisement for a snack box.  If you’ve heard of birch box (I do this also) or Stitch Fix (Yes, I do this too) or Door to Door Organics (I’ve done this one too) this is a little like this.  You get to pick out the types of snacks you like, and they are delivered to you on a weekly basis.  I haven’t gotten my snacks yet, but I am excited to try…I love trying new things!  There’s a coupon code you can enter if you want to try one yourself, enter “shape box”


ITEM #4:  APPLE CIDER VINEGAR is supposed to do wonders for you and I just can’t seem to get it done.  Typically you mix 1 or 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup water.  I am lucky to get 1 Teaspoon down with 3 cups of water!!  It tastes like rotten lemons to me!  For every positive thing that apple cider supposedly does for your body there is somewhere on the internet that ‘debunks’ it.

ITEM #5:  ANN  I just had to add this one…I hope D.C. doesn’t get embarrassed, but his wife is the newest Lulu Lemon Ambassador for the Woodfield Store and I think it is a TREMENDOUS accomplishment!!  She looks amazing in these pictures and thought I would share with those of you that aren’t on Facebook.



ITEM #6: MY MOM….This stinks, I am already starting to well up with tears.  My mom has had a rough go the past few years, the loss of her husband, her mom, and the diagnosis of auto-immune disease that leaves her in tremendous pain at times (especially stressful ones), but it doesn’t seem to be slowing her down.  After my dad died, the last place my mom wanted to be was at the baseball field watching my kids play ball, that was sooo his thing (he thought he was still the coach from his green chair down the foul line), but she is slowly moving her way back into that realm (not like she really has a choice…the weaver’s are typically on a ball field if you want to find them) and my kids love having her there, especially Emma (and me too).  Thanks mom!
