Did you hear the rumor? It’s true….yep…I did….I threw up last Tuesday. If you weren’t’ there you should have been there because it was a killer workout, but it definitely had some side effects which included vomit and severe soreness. I guess 120 burpees, 120 pushups, 240-180 degree jumps, 120 triceps kickbacks, 120 X jumps and 120 bicep curls can do that to ya! The X Jumps with the bicep curls are what did me in! I could do the X jumps, but I just couldn’t do the bicep curls, the bicep curls were supposed to be the active rest, not so much. So….yep, outside the gym…in the middle of class Weaver “tossed her cookies”! The first time I just dry heaved…the second time….here it came! (TMI I’m sure!) 🙂 I’m not sure what that says about me as an instructor, my goal is to always try and keep up with (generally speaking) the group and offer motivational “words” as we are pushing thru the hard stuff-not this time. I am pretty sure in my training manual it may say, “Motivational Tips that do NOT work”…Number is two is probably to NOT have an instructor that can NOT handle the workout. I think NUMBER ONE on that list was….”Don’t HIRE A TRAINER that throws up in the middle of class”. I do have to say that it was SUPER motivating for me to see the group I have trained with for the past two years (most of you) continue to FINISH the workout without me. That is MOTIVATING for me! That makes me so proud!
This weather is cold! It gets so dark so early! I wake up and it’s dark. I get home from work or running the kids around and it’s dark! YUCK!! It is so easy to stay in bed and snuggle up with the covers (not your mate…okay maybe your mate) and stay warm. What’s the point of exercising and trying to eat healthy anyway-there is crap food everywhere and you are running around like a lunatic! There isn’t enough time in the day to get everything done, let alone fit an exercise class in when you are so completely exhausted! SAD-Seasonal Affective Disorder-is real! (thanks to mayoclinic.org and livestrong.com for all the information below)

- It is a type of depression that affects you with the change of seasons (it actually exists transitioning to summer too) and because there is less sunlight you may have less serotonin in your system which in turn effects your mood.
- How does it affect you?
- It makes you irritable, tired, difficulty getting along with others, legs feel like they are 50 pounds, oversleep, crave carbs, gain weight
- How can you let it NOT affect you?
- EXERCISE (I’m going to guess you aren’t shocked that I said that!)
- BUNDLE UP and GET OUTSIDE to SOAK UP THE SUN!
- HEALTHY EATING (again, the same song and dance, eat healthy during the week and then treat yourself-within reason-over the weekend)
- PICK A GOAL- How are you going to get thru this season at the top. What are you going to do today and for the next 4 months that will make you better than you are today?

Recipe for the egg muffins- I finished off my last ones this morning, so they lasted almost a full week. All I did was chop up some broccoli and onion (chop up any veggies you like-it’s what I had). Spray the muffin tin with non-stick spray. Add veggies to muffin pan, 3/4 of the way full. Sprinkle with cheese. Top veggies and cheese with egg whites until full or close to full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Enjoy!! Brussel Sprouts-Delish!! I cut the little sprouts in half and peel off the outer layer. Heat a little olive oil in sauté pan and add sprouts. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. I love them crispy! Brussel Sprouts with these Dried Bananas in the same day……Stay away!! I am not proud to admit this, but I have been known to polish an entire bag of bananas in one day!!
