It’s been a while since I’ve written and we are already in our 5th week of the session! That means…it’s only 3 more weeks until Spring Break for me and 4 weeks until Spring Break for most of you. Work has been crazy busy for me and I am counting down the days to hopefully a little warmth and consistent sunshine. Emma’s big phrase this week has been, “Look mom, the sun is trying to push out!” I just love it, she thinks it’s a great day when the sun is out!!
Sorry, about yesterday’s class, I believed the weatherman’s forecast of lots of snow…I will never do that again….See you tomorrow, Wednesday morning!! (Tabata)
On a Different note…..Give Yourself a Break-—I am constantly reading different health and fitness blogs trying to keep up with the newest fitness trends to mix up the workouts, trying out new healthy recipes, and I stumbled across something that hit home the other day. I don’t know about you, but I tend to beat myself up, not physically of course, but emotionally. I am in a constant battle with myself. Should I eat that ice cream sundae at the birthday party? Can’t I just lay here and snuggle with my kiddos? Should we go out for pizza? Then, when I do indulge in the pizza, ice cream sundae, or morning snuggles I feel guilty. I literally have a conversation with myself that I shouldn’t have had those treats or should have gone on a run. But, why?
Along with each of those treats or moments was a memory, a positive memory that I turned into a negative….I need to stop doing that. I have a t-shirt that says, “Life is about balance, knowing when to hold on and knowing when to let go.” This is so true in so many parts of our lives, relationships (love, friendships, and family), parenting, jobs, money, and even your health.
Enjoy those treats when you are making that special memory at your niece’s birthday with all your family, go out on a date with your husband for Chinese, sleep in late and watch Saturday cartoons and GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK. What are you going to remember when you are old, the piece of cake you ate? I sure hope not.
FIND THE BALANCE!
My focus in regards to BALANCE for the next month when it comes to my health and exercise: I am going to eat lots of fruits and veggies during the week, up my water intake, cut out icky sweets and allow myself some freedom (treats and pizza)on the weekend. I’m going to workout hard at class and relax on my days off. I’m trying to find a balance that I can enjoy and others around me can also enjoy…without a black eye at the end of the night (get it…beat myself up over it).
Classes for the rest of the session: March 2,4,8,9,11,15,16,18, 22
Next Session will start Tuesday, April 5th!
